Remembrances

Tony was a long-time dancer with Boots in Squares, but stopped at some point before we moved here.  I did know who he was by sight, but not personally. He was apparently a portrait artist in his prime.

Tony and I have been good friends since we first met at Convention in Chicago in 1985. Once he moved from New York to Palm Springs, for several years I stayed with him on my vacations.

Tony was originally a Time Squares dancer from the 80s. He had a lover, Arthur Whitehead who died from AIDS. There is an AIDS Panel with both their names and birth and death years. Tony's death year was left at 199_ probably with a presumption of joining Arthur soon. Who knew it would be this long?
Jim Babcock

At his request, Tony’s ashes were scattered in Joshua Tree National Park. Tony was an avid square dancer up until a few years ago, and an avid country/Western dancer right up until he could no longer do it.
