Remembrances

The Desert Business Association is deeply saddened to share the passing of long-time member and former staff member Santo Aloisi, who we lost on March 15, 2025.

The Desert Business Association is very sad to share the passing of long-time DBA member and staff member Santo Aloisi, who we lost on March 15, 2025.

Santo contributed greatly to DBA through his involvement as a member since 2010 with his own bookkeeping company, with his husband Tony Gangloff as owners of POSH Palm Springs Inn, and through his years of service as DBA’s Administrator and bookkeeper. He was the first person many saw at DBA mixers at the check-in table, as well as promoting his bookkeeping company with the phrase, ““Remember…you didn't go into business to do the paperwork…But I did!”

Along with so many others, we will miss Santo for his partnership and friendship and send our warmest thoughts and sincere condolences to his husband, Tony, who has been by Santo’s side, partnered for 26 years, and married for over 11 years. We also know there will be a gap in the daily life of his beloved dog, Leo, who was beside Santo, bringing him joy each day.

We became members of Santo’s and Tony’s family of friends 25 years ago in the San Francisco gay square dance community. Santo and I served together on the Foggy City Dancers Board of Directors. Lily and I were thrilled to become Bert’s honorary godmothers. We were honored to stand up for their wedding. Santo was a gentle giant of a Bear with a generous heart and loving spirit—and we will miss him from our lives. Rest in Peace, dear friend…you’re meeting your sweet doggie kiddos at the Rainbow Bridge now…hold a place for us and we’ll dance all together once more. Kisses, Judith
