Capital City Squares dancer Pat O'Toole passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 4. While visiting with her good friend Sue, she'd gone to rest and slipped away in her sleep. She'd been dancing as recently as Monday night.
Pat was awarded Golden Dancer designation in early 2020. She and her late partner Jim Overton, were members of Capital City Squares and danced with several ASDSC clubs including Capital City Squares and Sierra Squares.
Pat was born on October 19, 1939. Prior to moving to Sacramento, Pat lived many years in San Luis Obispo and enjoyed returning to the area to occasionally dance with Cuesta Squares and to attend Darren Gallina's Beach Bash 805.
Pat's badge will be pinned near Jim’s in remembrance on the IAGSDC memorial panels during the Hitchhike Across the Galaxy convention in July 2025. Jim’s badge was pinned on the memorial quilt at the 2024 convention in Durham, North Carolina.
