• First professional caller for Squares Across The Border, making him the first Canadian caller to be hired by a gay square dance club in Canada.

Biography

For almost 2 years, beginning in Spring 1984, Ken was the ONLY straight caller who would call for SATB, the first and only gay square dance club in Canada at that time. He helped convince other callers to get over their homophobia. Ken was instrumental in getting SATB approved to join the Fraser Valley Square and Round Dance Association — a big deal because it was controversial at the time.
