Early ECR

Some recollections of dancing with the first class of El Camino Reelers starting sometime in 1985 or 1986:

• Mostly women. Marilyn Martinyak recalls about half a dozen men, while Bill Klein claims I was the only other one when he joined. Both could be right, at different times.
• Slight imbalance of Gents over Ladies. (Then, as now, class members were asked to stick to one part initially. (I remember at least one time when several class members were sitting out but I as the angel had to dance because "we need a Lady and they're all Gents".)
• Graduates of the first class were given badge swingers that said "Pioneer".
