Obituary
Elizabeth Louise Johns, age 81 was born in Great Bend, KS to George Archie Johns and Helen Joan (Debes) Johns. She died peacefully in hospice care in Grand Junction, CO, on June 11, 2021. She was preceded in death by her brothers Lawrence Johns and George Johns Jr., sister Joyce (Johns) Aranda, and former husband Richard John Weiland. Betty is survived by her sisters Judith (Johns) LaGuardia and Helen (Johns) Keen, brothers Max Johns and Michael Johns, children Richard Weiland Jr., Paul Weiland and Carrie (Weiland) Kilian, grandchildren Joel, Noelle, Grace, Christian, Anna and Diana, and great-grandchildren Lillian and Theodore. Betty attended primary school in Denver, CO, graduating from Manual High School. She worked for over 35 years for numerous Safeway stores in various capacities across Denver. Upon retirement her greatest pastime was family, especially time spent with her grandchildren. She also had a passion for reading, gardening, collecting antiques, and interior design. A graveside, Catholic memorial service will be held for Betty at the Olinger Eastlawn Cemetery in Aurora, CO on July 24, 2021 at 11:00 am.[2]
