Obituary

Tommy Gossett
May 30, 1956 - Dec. 30, 1991
Our friend Tommy Gossett passed away peacefully at his home in Forestville after a lengthy battle with AIDS on Dec. 30. His lover of many years, Noel Ashley, preceded him, succumbing in November.

A native of Georgia, Tommy was a longtime resident of San Francisco. He moved to Sonoma County in 1986 to better indulge his interests in gardening and country living. He was employed by Children's hospital in San Francisco where he worked on the Gay Men's Health Study.

Tommy was a familiar face South of Market where he enjoyed the fraternity of leather men. He was a devoted practitioner of Transcendental Meditation. He was also a longtime member of the Barbary Coast Cloggers where he was a vocal advocate for community involvement and service. The Cloggers will miss his sharp wit and wicked sense of humor and, of course, his "shut up and dance" T-shirt.

His life was celebrated by his coworkers at Children's Hospital at a memorial held Feb. 1. His special friends Katy, Ron and Paul wish remembrances be sent to Face to Face in Guerneville.[1]
