Obituary
Every now and then, along our journey of life, we meet an angel. Dear Steve was beyond the wishes and desires anyone could dream of for a friend. Steve was made of smiles , hugs, sincerity, compassion, humbleness, generosity, and love. He was born in Alameda and lived in San Francisco since 1972. Steve saw a need for so much work to be done with the AIDS crisis. He was a longtime volunteer at Coming Home Hospice, giving comfort and sunshine to so many friends in square dancing. Steve leaves behind his dear mother, Marty; his adored sister, Janis; and many, many friends.
I once saw a flower which stood among the rest. I brought it into my life and nurtured it with care. In return, it brought sunshine, it brought me friendship, it brought me comfort, it brought me understanding, it brought me love. Then my flower died. I was lost and sad and felt alone. Then I looked up to the stars and again saw my flower shining as bright for me in the heavens as it did here on earth.
Donations may be made in Steve's name to the Godfather Service Fund, AIDS Emergency Fund, or Service Through Touch, all in San Francisco. A memorial party is planned for Thursday, August 10. Call Jim at 648-2931 or Dennis at (408) 623-4510 for details.[1]
