Obituary

Bruce Elwood Venable, born April 18, 1947, in Portland Oregon.

He was a long time resident of Santa Fe.

Mr. Venable was a tutor at St. John's College.

He was a serious scholar, but devoted to classroom teaching. He will be missed by generations of his students.

Bruce is survived by his partner Bob Homrich, his sister Barbara Venable of Seattle, and his brother Thomas Venable also of Seattle.

He leaves behind a multitude of grieving friends, and a legacy and example of what a college teacher should be. He finally succumbed to a long, but painful illness.

Donations may be given to the Hospice Center or the AIDS Wellness Clinic.

Prayers will begin at noon today at St. Elias the Prophet Greek Orthodox Church in Eldorado.

Interment will follow at Memorial Garden Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Berardinelli Mortuary, 1399 Luisa Street, 984-8600.[1]
