Obituary
Robert (Rob) Eugene Enbody III
Rob Enbody, 34 of Toledo, Washington passed away November 20, 2003 in Moxee, Washington. He was born on May 4, 1969 in Longview to Jean Enbody and Robert (Bob) Enbody, Jr.
Rob grew up in Toledo, where he graduated from High School in 1987. He was a lifelong area resident and took great pride in his career at various senior care and retirement communities, beginning as Activities Director at The Delaware Plaza. He then spent several years as Activities Director and later Marketing/Admissions Director at Northwest Continuum Care Center.
Following his positions in Cowlitz County, he served in Administration at Ameripark in Lewis County and Oatfield Estates in Clackamas County.
In addition to working in the retirement community, he also traveled extensively throughout the United States performing as a pianist and soloist at hundreds of senior facilities. He derived immense pleasure in bringing joy and enrichment into the lives of those he entertained.
Through his travels, he touched many lives and will be greatly missed; both locally and around the country.
Rob's many contributions to various communities began while he was still in high school, where he was an active member of the FFA. He was President of the Toledo Chapter in 1986-87 and State Reporter in 1987-88. He continued his FFA involvement after graduation, serving as Talent Director for both Washington State and National Conventions for 15 and 18 years, respectively.
He was the first and only active male member of the Longview Junior Service League, where he served on various committees since 1994. Rob was a participant in "Cabaret", as well as a member of the talent committee. He was also passionately involved with the Festival of Trees.
In addition, he served as chairman for the Longview YMCA Caravan of Homes and was instrumental in making it successful year after year.
Rob served on the Board of Directors at the Cowlitz County Guidance Association from 1997 until the present, was Vice President in 2000 and President in 2001-02. He was also a member of the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Kelso, as well as their organist for the past 8 years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Chehalis.
He loved to dance, was a member of the Rosetown Ramblers Square Dance Club in Portland and taught several country and western dance classes locally.
Rob is preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl and Lillian Wallace of Toledo and Robert (Bob) and Delia Enbody of Kelso. Survivors include his mother; Jean Enbody of Toledo; father Bob Enbody of Kelso; two sisters, Teri Boone of Yorba Linda, California and Denise Porter of Toutle; nephew Matthew Enbody of Toledo; and niece Christine Porter of Toutle.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday November, 29 at 2:00 in the First Presbyterian Church, 215 Academy St., Kelso, Washington. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Community Home Health and Hospice at 1035 11th Ave., Longview, WA 98632.
