Obituary

Melody Carol Hinshaw, 61, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014 as the result of a traffic accident. Melody was born May 31, 1953, in Salina, Kansas to George Asher and Maxine Carol (Clopine) Hinshaw. She graduated from Maryville High School, Maryville, MO, then completed her undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Biology form Northwest Missouri State University. She worked as a chemist and then for the post office. She married Nelson Harding and they lived in Kansas City. She is survived by her brother, Ren Hinshaw and nephew, Asher Hinshaw. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her sister, Candy Celeste Hinshaw. Melody was an avid walker and bicycle rider. Her passion was folk dancing. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends in the dance community. A memorial celebration will be held on September 6, 2014 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1700 Westport Road, Kansas City, MO at 11:00 am.
