Kurt Richard Stutzman
Kurt Richard Stutzman died with peace and grace on Jan. 8, surrounded by loving family and friends. His 20-month struggle with AIDS was characterized by courage, personal and spiritual growth, and consideration of others.
Kurt was born in Los Angeles on April 22, 1950,a nd grew up in Pasadena. He graduated from the University of California, Davis. His life's work included teaching, carpentry, and property management. His sense of spiritual community included both Congregation Sha'ar Zahav and the Metropolitan Community Church of San Francisco. His talents for listening, organizing, and loving people were shared generously.
Kurt is survived by his mother Virginia, his grandmother Irene, his sister Carol, his beloved friend Sarah and their daughter Katie, his partners Don and Patrick, and many friends and relatives. A memorial service will be held at the Metropolitan Community Church of San Francisco, 150 Eureka Street, at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17. Kurt requested that any gifts in his memory be made to the Metropolitan Community Church of San Francisco.[1]
