Biography

While growing up in Canada, Jerry played the piano and sang in many amateur shows. He and his sister Loretta learned to square dance from Frank Dorward. Frank knew Jerry could sing, so he handed a record to Jerry and told him to practice. Jerry learned the singing call and has been calling ever since. He is known for his creative choreography, high-energy presentation, and variety of music.

In 1984 Jerry and his wife Janice became the resident square and round dance and clogging instructors at an RV park in Yuma, Arizona. When Jerry is not in Yuma, he travels to other areas in the USA, Europe, New Zealand, Australia, and Canada calling festivals and dances. In the sprig and fall he also works on a grain farm in Alberta.

Jerry has recorded for several square dance labels. He and Janice have also composed three round dances. Jerry and Janice are members of CALLERLAB and ROUNDLAB. Currently, Jerry is a member of the CALLERLAB Board of Governors. His website is www.jerryjestin.com[1]
