Jack Russell Pickett
March 13, 1943 – May 18, 2024
Jack Russell Pickett, 81, of Dover, Delaware passed away on May 18, 2024. He was born March 13, 1943 in Glendale, California, the son of Thomas Valdie Pickett and Dorothy Lucille Stansfield Pickett. Over the years, he was a resident of California, Virginia, New Jersey, and most recently Delaware. Jack was a graduate of Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California majoring in Engineering. He spent his entire professional career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Jack enjoyed square dancing, round dancing, fishing, playing bridge, chess, and just about any game that involved skill and strategy.

Jack is survived by his wife of 16 years Wendy Pickett of Dover, DE as well as his three children, Erin (Omar) Carrera of Corte Madera, CA; Rebecca Pickett of New York City, NY; Ryan (Jennifer) Pickett of Rockaway, NJ; his two stepchildren, Lisa (Fintan) Gorman of San Francisco, CA; and Brian (Grace) O'Connell of Pittsburgh, PA; four grandchildren, Camila Carrera of San Francisco, CA; Nicolas Carrera of Corte Madera, CA; Ceola Rory Gorman of San Francisco, CA; and Evelyn Jane O'Connell of Pittsburgh, PA; niece Michelle Pickett Kroeger of Oro Valley, AZ; and nephew Thomas (Dessa Nalwood-Arrow) Pickett of Tucson, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gary Pickett.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, May 26 preceded by an informal gathering of loved ones beginning at 1 pm at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden-Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE.
