Hex

I came up with the idea of using 6 couples in a hexagon formation in 1985. I was working on choreography for the Foggy City Exhibition Team and trying to invent some variations to the traditional 4 couple square. I had never seen anything like a hexagon, so I had to "invent" it myself. I could see lots of possibilities for putting together some fun patterns using the hex concept. The first hexagon performance was done at the 1986 San Francisco Convention: "Star Through the Golden Gate". It was done using the singing call "Mama Don't Allow". At the middle break, I brought in 2 more couples and converted the hex to an Octagon!
