Obituary

HAROLD A. PERMENTER JR., 49, of Memphis, former computer programmer with Kraft Foods, died of complications from AIDS Friday at his home. Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park. He was a member of Prescott Memorial Baptist Church. He leaves two sisters, Mary Stanford of Memphis and Becky Stracener of Blytheville, Ark., and a brother, Tom Permenter of Salt Lake City, Utah. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Friends for Life or Prescott Memorial Baptist Church.[1]

Remembrances

With the passing of a former club member, Cotton Pickin’ Squares established the Harold Permenter Memorial Fund with a $500 bequest. The fund is used exclusively to support causes within the Memphis gay community and is perpetuated with annual fundraising activities within the club.[2]
