Remembrances
Our Friend Gerry Mathieu:
Gerry was a nurse working with the Philadelphia Health Department in the early days of HIV/AIDS. He was one of the first staff members of the newly forms AIDS Activity Coordinating Office responsible for the coordination of all AIDS Services in the city. Gerry’s commitment to people living with AIDS was renown. His ability to care for people during the early days of HIV disease demonstrated his loving nature. Gerry was a gentle soul always available to assist someone looking for assistance . He was a great resource and comfort. He loved square dancing. That was his outlet to meet people and spend time with others. He considered Independence Squares his family.
He will be missed!
