Obituary

George Robert Lanyi, educator, lawyer, computer expert, died at the Ralph K. Davies Medical Center in San Francisco on Jan. 9 of complications from AIDS.

George was a graduate of the Riverdale Country School, Yale University (Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa) and Stanford Law School.

George was a thinker, world traveler and avid square dancer; a warm, loving, giving friend; a good son, stepson and brother.

Services will be held at the First Unitarian Church of San Francisco on Saturday, Jan. 13 t 11 a.m.

He is mourned by his many friends, his mother, Valerie Lanyi McDevitt M.D., father Andrew A. Lanyi, brother Paul T. Lanyi, stepgfather John B. McDevitt M.D. and lover Chuck Gentry.
