Claude Kollmann
Feb. 3, 1931 - May 20, 1989
Claude passed away at his home at 9:10 a.m. May 20, from AIDS complications after a four-year illness.
He was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 20 years, helping many people.
He was born in Minnesota and moved to Madera with his family. He served in the Navy as chief petty officer during the Korean War.
He was employed at IBM for 30 years, having retired in 1987.
He loved to travel and attended the symphony, theater and opera.
He is remembered by his business partner and friend Don Thurow and his friend Gordon Hamilton as well as many other too numerous to mention. Also his hospice attendants and Ward 86 nurses and doctors for their wonderful care.
His ashes will be taken out to sea.
A memorial service was held at Trinity church on June 3. An open house will be held by his friend Don Thurow on Sunday, June 18, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 355 Grove, $6. For more information, call 863-5130.[1]
