Obituary
Christian K. Anderson
January 1, 1951 —
February 25, 2001
Chris left this life after a lengthy and brave struggle with AIDS complications. He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth, and is survived by his mother Cecilia, brother Lars, and sister Margot. He is also preceded in death by his longtime companion Bob Bellville. Chris graduated from UC San Diego in 1973 and worked as Manager of Information for United Leasing in San Francisco for many years. Reaching the age of 50 became such a goal that, with the assistance of several friends, he left the hospital against medical advice to attend his birthday party this past New Years Eve.
Chris was an avid square dancer since 1983, having served as Administrator of Western Star Dancers, remaining a member of Western Star and Midnight Squares. He was part of a close group of dancing friends who called themselves The Bradley Family. Known as Uncle Joe Jo Bradley, Chris is survived by Mama Jo, Suzie Jo, Janie Jo, Fannie Jo, and Blanchie Jo. Several of his Bradley family preceded him in death. His entire Bradley and biological families were with him at the hospital, all at the same time, the day before he died.
He leaves behind many other dear friends, especially Carlos, Steve & Karl, Tim, Kelly. Jack, Dan & Francis, Carl & Jeff, Mike and Jim.
Interment of his ashes occurred March 17 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo, Iowa. A celebration of his life will be held in San Francisco, April 7, at 10 am. at Christ Church Lutheran, 1090 Quintara St. (between 19th and 20th Ave.). In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Batten Disease Support & Research Association, 120 Humphries Dr. Ste 2, Reynoldsburg, OH 43068.[1]
