Obituary
Robert B. Fuller passed away on August 19, 2016 of cancer. Bob is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Barbara, and survived by his husband, Juan Mata Morales, and many, many friends. He was born on March 24, 1938 in Durand, MI. After graduating from the University of Michigan, he moved to southern California and eventually settled in San Francisco. There, he began an incredible life that encompassed a love of the arts – opera, symphony, dance, choral music and theatre. Bob was also very philanthropic and supported many arts organizations as well as LGBT causes through Horizons Foundation. Traveling was also a huge part of his life, especially train travel, and for a period of time he owned a travel agency. Bob was also a member of a LGBT square dancing group and participated in dance conferences all around the country. He was a devout Episcopalian and was a member of Grace Cathedral for many years before transferring his membership to The Episcopal Church of Saint John the Evangelist. Bob was a fire protection engineer for most of his career with positions with Kemper Insurance and the City of San Francisco. After Bob retired from the City, he continued consulting. Bob's first partner was Manny Parian whom he loved very much. Manny passed away in 2007. Bob met Juan in 2012 and they were married in 2013 in San Francisco City Hall. Bob and Juan later moved to Modesto, CA in 2014 where he lived until his death in August, 2016.
Bob's life will be celebrated at a Memorial Service on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 1PM at The Episcopal Church of Saint John the Evangelist, 1661 Fifteenth Street, at Julian Street, San Francisco, CA, 94102. A reception will follow the service.
Donations can be made in Bob's memory to the Gay Moral Values Fund of Horizons Foundation, 550 Montgomery Street, Suite 700, San Francisco, CA 94111.[1]
